Inlet works solutions
Removing rag and debris from sewage inflows
Solids carried in wastewater can accumulate and cause clogging or damage in downstream processes. This can reduce plant efficiency as well as causing damaging abrasion to treatment systems - increasing operational and maintenance costs.
Our inlet works screens and screens handling packages remove debris and solids to protect downstream processes, cutting maintenance and preventing clogging and deposition. Our sludge management products improve dewatering and reduce solids handling.
We partner with market-leading third party manufacturers to ensure we deliver the most effective and reliable solutions.
Our teams of skilled engineers work with our clients to deliver bespoke design and installation solutions, along with high-quality, reliable maintenance and repair services, working with technologies that have been developed and improved over more than 40 years.
We work with leading third party companies to deliver robust and reliable coarse screening equipment.
Our coarse screens are supplied by KUHN GmbH, a company based in Höpefingen, Germany. Kuhn GmbH wastewater treatment equipment has a proven track record in Europe, Asia, North and South America, Africa and Australia.
We offer a range of coarse screens which include:
KHU KN Multi-Rake Screen
A dual-angled coarse screen which requires no wash water to operate.

Fine screens take and screen the effluent flow passed on from coarse screens, providing an additional, but essential protection level to downstream processes.
Our range of fine screens include our own in-house developed MNSS Combined Screens as well as by Passavant-Geiger, a Aqseptence Group company based in Aarbergen, Germany.
MNSS Combined Screen
The MNSS Combined Screen is a robust, reliable inlet works system that combines screening, washing, transport, compaction and dewatering in a single cost-effective standalone solution.
Developed by our UK Wastewater Services team, the MNSS Combined Screen is designed for smaller plants and those facilities that require a more cost-effective screening solution.
The MNSS Combined Screen is easy to install and is ideal for use in municipal or industrial applications that require a simple and robust solution to remove fine solids from a flow.
Noggerath® Centre-Flo CF WPS Band Screen
The Noggerath® Centre-Flo Band Screen CF WPS is a space-saving fine screen which delivers a Screenings Capture Rate of up to 85%.

Noggerath® Rotary Bar Screen RBS-RED
The Noggerath® Rotary Bar Screen RBS-RED / RBS-SRS-RED is a compact system for automatic wastewater treatment. Its proven dual drive concept and design is the same as in the Noggerath® Rotary Drum Screen -separately driven screen drum and screenings conveyance systems, no suspended rotary arm is required, leaving a free inflow for the screenings.

Hydro-Sludge™ Screen
The Hydro-Sludge™ Screen is a superior sludge screening solution for municipal and industrial applications, delivering solid performance and straightforward maintenance.
Offering a range of screen sizes, the Hydro-Sludge™ Screen reduces loading on downstream processes and improves overall treatment effectiveness. Able to handle a dry solids capacity of up to 9%, the Hydro-Sludge™ Screen removes solids early on in the process, minimising the clogging that would otherwise reduce downstream treatment efficiency.
Screenings from coarse and fine screens contain a high proportion of water and organic matter. The more water and organics that can be removed from the screenings, the more transport and disposal costs are reduced.
Our wash presses wash and dewater screenings, reducing their volume by up to 50%??
Kuhn GmbH wash presses
KWP-HD (Heavy Duty) Wash Press
The Kuhn Wash Press KWP-HD is a high-quality machine for washing and separating out organic material from screenings. The Kuhn KWP-HD has an extra robust drainage desk along the bottom of the screw designed to withstand heavy duty operation. This drainage deck can be customised with 3 mm perforations or thin slot to improve screenings capture rate and reduce maintenance.
KWP-S and KWP-P Wash Presses
The Kuhn GmbH wash press range also includes the KWP-S (standard) and the KWP-P (premium). Both are multi-functional, providing washing, compacting and dewatering, and both deliver dewatering of up to 50% of dry matter.
The KWP-S is standard, while the KWP-P offers has an enhanced washing system with hollow-shaft injection and an enlarged dewatering surface along the length of the unit.

Noggerath® Wash Press NWP NSP
The Noggerath® Wash Press NWP NSP washes, compacts, dewaters and conveys of solids, delivering a weight reduction of the raw screenings of up to 80%. Dry solids contents of the washed screening are typically up to 47%.

Grit in wastewater flows causes clogging in downstream processes making them less efficient. It also causes abrasion damage and wear on equipment, resulting in the need for increased cleaning, maintenance and repair.
Removing grit at the inlet works of wastewater treatment work will reduce maintenance costs and help ensure that more sensitive treatment processes can work to their maximum efficiency.
We offer a range of advanced products that can help wastewater treatment works operators effectively remove grit before it has the chance to enter other processes, erode expensive equipment, and deposit throughout a treatment plant.
Grit King®
The Grit King® is a compact, unpowered advanced grit management system that removes up to 95% of 106 μm particles or larger, preventing costly downstream grit abrasion and deposits.
With no moving parts, requiring less than 150 mm of headloss at average flows and a capacity to handle flows as low as 11 l/s, the Grit King® is a versatile and economical grit removal system that cuts plant maintenance costs.
Headcell®
The HeadCell® is an advanced stacked tray grit separator that retains 95% of all grit 75 μm and larger - guaranteed.
With a small footprint, no electrical requirements and no moving parts the HeadCell® delivers exceptional and economical solids removal for small, medium or large wastewater treatment plants.
