Overview

Overview

The Grit Classifier separates and dewaters the concentrated grit underflow from high performance grit separation devices such as a Grit King® or HeadCell®, producing dry, dewatered solids with low organic content suitable for landfill disposal.

Using a settling area and a screw conveyor to transport solids up an inclined trough for disposal into a dumpster, the Grit Classifier reduces the weight of wastewater solids, reducing solids handling and disposal costs. Organics, which remain in suspension, are discharged over a weir and continue on for further treatment.

Benefits

Benefits

Reduce solids handling and disposal costs

The Grit Classifier separates and dewaters industrial and wastewater solids, producing dry output that is easy to handle and dispose of.

Get landfill-ready solids output

The Grit Classifier outputs grit and other solids with low organic content that is suitable for landfill disposal.

How it works

How it works

Grit Classifier Transparent - How it WorksGrit and organics captured by a Hydro International separation device are fed into the grit classifier unit. A slowly rotating screw carries the grit up the inclined trough, dewatering it as it travels to the discharge chute. From there it outputs into a container ready to be landfilled.
