Reduce Pollutants in Final Water Discharge

Final water polishing, and removal of environmental pollutants including ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and phosphates, are achieved with DynaSand® vertical sand filter bed technology. The processes help reduce eutrophication and consequent environmental harm in receiving water courses.

The DynaSand® range of robust, low maintenance, minimal power units combine high volume throughput with a small footprint, and are ideal for upgrading existing municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plant. The three processes use a continuous, self-cleaning upflow process and may be combined in series to achieve the precise pollution control required.

DynaSand® removes settled silts and impurities to meet the highest water clarity standards. Injection of ferric salts into the inflow also allows capture and removal of dissolved phosphates.

DynaSand® Oxy combines the vertical filter bed with colonisation of the sand grains by nitrifying bacteria in an aerobic environment for conversion of ammonia to nitrate.

DynaSand® Deni also uses the vertical filter bed with colonisation of the sand grains by selected bacteria in an anaerobic environment for conversion of nitrites and nitrates to nitrogen gas; the nitrogen is discharged to the atmosphere by the action of the airlift pump.
